Jim Mingey, founder and president of Veterans Business Services will be a panelist at the Oregon Entrepreneurs Network PubTalk on January 10th. The PubTalk will cover some of the exciting new crowdfunding opportunities available to small businesses. The conversation will include peer to peer lending (Kiva loans), donation based crowdfunding (Kickstarter, Indiegogo), intrastate crowdfunding (Oregon’s recently revised OIO law also known as community public offerings), Reg CF, and Reg A+. Entrepreneurs can learn about these new fundraising methods and decide whether crowdfunding might be the right route for their business.
The panel will be moderated by Amy Pearl, Executive Director of Hatch Innovation. Jim Mingey will be sharing his recent experience with crowdfunding, along with several other panelists including including Doug Campoli, CFO Arcimoto, Hanna Scholz, President Bike Friday, and Mary Hull, Partner Stoel Rives Law firm. Jim has extensive funding experience, and has recently explored CPO options to fund his Oregon Benefit Company, Veterans Business Services.
