Jim Mingey can relate on a personal level to the needs of the Veteran small-business person and possesses the practical knowledge to implement his experience in today’s marketplace. This experience includes capital raising, franchise marketing and development, small business finance and custom Veteran marketing plans for corporations and educational institutions. Jim is a Vietnam Combat Veteran.
Over his career, Jim has been responsible for personally arranging over $250 million in community development finance including $1,000,000 from Ford Foundation for the development of the first nonprofit controlled public securities equity offering. This offering led to over $1,000,000,000 in subsequent tax-based equity financing for community development.
Jim is currently a leading consultant to the Vocational Rehabilitation and Employment (VR&E) Self Employment Program at Veterans Administration. He is a member of the Veteran Institute of Procurement and has participated instructed in most federal Veteran small business service programs, including SBA’s Boots to Business. Jim has been a Mentor and supporter for American Corporate Partners for Veterans since 2009.
As President of The Veterans Corporation, Jim was awarded a competitive grant from the McCormick Foundation (supported by Major League Baseball) which was then invested in Prevail Health Systems for Veterans affected by PTSD. The investment provided seed capital to test online Cognitive Behavior Therapy systems for Service Disabled Veterans. Prevail is now a Prime VA and DoD contractor and their behavioral health systems have been used by over 30,000 Veterans.
