The Saint Joseph’s University Office of Veterans Services is part of The Erivan K. Haub School of Business – an international AACSB-accredited institution in business and accounting offering programs at the bachelor’s, master’s and executive master’s levels. U.S.News & World Report has ranked the school’s part-time MBA, risk-management and insurance, marketing, management, and finance programs among the top in the nation. The Haub School was recently named one of the nation’s top business schools in the Princeton Review’s “The Best 300 Business Schools,” and the undergraduate program was recently recognized by Bloomberg’s Businessweek. The Office of Veterans Services is committed to honoring those who have served our country by providing opportunities for education and career advancement.  Veterans Services designs and implements customized programs and services for veterans and their families.  Specifically, our Office has three missions:

  • Develop and implement Entrepreneurship Programs for Veterans, with specific emphasis on disabled veterans
  • Support our student-veteran community, including dependents, with a suite of programs and services that ensure full utilization of entitled benefits
  • Build a network of veteran-friendly businesses, mentors and civic organizations that are dedicated to Career Development and Job Placement initiatives

     

    Our Entrepreneurship Programs are delivered in two distinct format:

Entrepreneurship Bootcamp for Veterans with Disabilities (EBV)
This free program, created by Syracuse University, is designed to help veterans interested in starting their own small business.

  • Delivered in three phases, veterans first complete an online self-study program designed to provide a foundation in business fundamentals and develop a business plan.
  • The second phase consists of a nine-day on-campus residency at St. Joe’s, complete with guest lecturers, panel discussions, one-on-one mentoring, and social outings – finally culminating in a Venture Pitch competition and a graduation banquet and awards ceremony.
  • The third phase is for 12 months following the completion of phase two and consists of in-kind services ranging from website development to tax and accounting assistance. The use of a mentor is also available for this final phase.

Veterans Entrepreneurial Jumpstart (VEJ)
This free program is a product of Saint Joseph’s University.

  • Delivered in three phases, veterans first complete an online self-study program designed to provide a foundation in business fundamentals and develop a business plan.
  • The second phase consists of a nine-day on-campus residency at St. Joe’s, complete with guest lecturers, panel discussions, one-on-one mentoring, and social outings, culminating in a Venture Pitch presentation by all veterans and a graduation dinner and awards ceremony.
  • The third phase is for six months following the completion of phase two and consists of in-kind services ranging from website development to tax and accounting assistance. The use of a mentor is also available for this final phase.
